Instruction for plinths making

Miista Pop Up Store NY

We designed Miista’s, an East London shoe brand, first pop-up store in New York. Following their unexpected and playful design language, we created a series of broken plinths to showcase their products. A plinth for a pair of shoes. Our backyard became the testing ground, informing the final shapes and manufacture of the plinth.

We were interested in the raw quality of broken fragments, the cracks and shattered elements, standing in distinct contrast with Miista’s sleek products. The plinths are uniform and muted in tone, allowing the shoes to take centre stage.
